Betsy Hedberg, M.A., Founder
The Stress Reduction PathThrough my own life experiences and maturation, I have discovered a calling to help people find more meaning and balance in their lives. We
have so many privileges as Americans, yet we often feel overwhelmed by our responsibilities and opportunities. We often feel that we need to
be "everything to everyone" and to strive for perfection in everything we do.
I have experienced these challenges and have discovered
mindfulness practices that greatly help us put things in perspective, reduce overall stress, and bring meaning to our lives. I look forward to
sharing what I have learned with you. My unique professional background includes:
- Professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorelli of the
University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society
- Coursework in counseling at
Regis University in Denver and ecopsychology at Naropa University in Boulder (currently finishing classes required for a master’s degree
in counseling)
- M.A. in cultural geography at UCLA, focusing on people’s attitudes toward and relationships with their culture and
environment
- Personal history interviews since 2004 (Everyone Has A Story)
- 10 years facilitating adult education courses
- 10 years
developing innovative curriculum materials for adult and K-12 classes
